Anatomy and Physiology
Welcome to the Anatomy and Physiology Module! In this Knowledge Module, you will learn about the anatomical and physiological systems of the human body. Anatomy refers to the structures which make up those systems. Physiology refers to how those structures function to work together to form the different systems. These systems of the human body function individually within their own systems, but they also play an important role by being interconnected within other systems, as you will see.
The body’s main function is to provide us with structural support and protect us as human beings. With this being said, you will also encounter pathophysiology within all systems of the human body and how they affect the normal functions of the affected system. Often, some of these pathologies or conditions are asymptomatic and go undiagnosed. They can be detrimental to the body and lead to additional conditions.
Pharmaceutical treatment options and therapies, as well as different diagnostic methods, will also be explored for each system and their accompanying pathologies.
