Sales and Key Accounts Roles in Health Products Industry Qualification

The Health Products Sales Associate supports the Health Products Sales Representative and/or key accounts managers and/or Sales Managers in all sales and marketing activities. They are involved in identifying prospects, qualifying them, arranging introductions and meetings for Health Products Sales Representatives. The Health Products Sales Associate assists in maintaining current accounts and business expansion via marketing channels by employing various sales and marketing techniques such targeted emails and blasts calls, etc.

Notional Hours split into:

Self-paced online e-learning, Virtual Classrooms, In-real-life practical days, Implementing Knowledge in the Workplace, Time Spent on Portfolio of Evidence (PoE), Assessment and Feedback Sessions

HPSA Qualification Outcomes

​The learners completing the qualification will be able to:

  1. Support the sales process through lead generation, scheduling, and administrative follow-up.

  2. Maintain customer databases and assist in relationship-building efforts.

  3. Apply product knowledge to prepare for and assist in sales interactions.

  4. Communicate ethically and effectively with internal and external stakeholders.

  5. Understand basic anatomy, health interventions, legislation, and ethics relevant to the health products sector.

If you already have a BSc Qualification which includes anatomy and physiology, biochemestry, medicine, or similar chances are is that you can be RPL'd for some of the Knowledge Modules in this Qualification

HPSA Qualification Curriculum Content

The Qualification has been structured around the Curriculum Document as a standard from  CHIETA and QCTO. For you, as a business entity, to claim your B-BBEE skills development points, learners are required to complete Knowledge Modules (KM's), Practical Modules (PM's) and Workplace Modules (WM's).

serve as the foundational learning components that provide learners with the theoretical understanding required for effective performance in the role.

NQF 5 (30 credits)

Total Notional Hours = 300 hrs

  • KM01: Anatomy and Physiology

  • KM03: Legal Requirements and Ethics in the Pharmaceutical Industry

  • KM04: Ethical Codes of Practice relating to Health Products

  • KM06: Sales of Health Products

  • KM07: Interpersonal and Intrapersonal Relationships and Communication

Practical Modules (PM's)

are designed to develop the hands-on skills needed to apply theoretical knowledge in real-world scenarios, bridging the gap between classroom learning and workplace performance.

NQF 5 (22 credits)

Total Notional Hours = 220 hrs

  • PM03: Apply Product and Other Relevant Knowledge in order to Prepare for Health products Sales

  • PM04: Sell Health Products to Achieve Targets

focus on the real-time application of knowledge and skills in an actual work environment, ensuring that learners are work-ready and capable of operating professionally and ethically within the industry.

  • WM03: Health Products Sales

Whilst implementing this curriculum, learners can assist sales teams in engaging with clients and promoting health products, while learning about ethical selling, customer service, and product positioning.
